Rice Krispies Too Healthy?

By Bruno Waterfield

According to the marketing slogan it is a taste that you either love or hate. But Danes will no longer get the chance to make up their own minds on Marmite after the British delicacy was banned under food safety laws.
The strongly flavoured dark brown spread made from brewer’s yeast has joined Rice Crispies, Shreddies, Horlicks and Ovaltine prohibited in Denmark under legislation forbidding the sale of food products with added vitamins as threat to public health. –more–

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Europe ‘stealing Iran’s rain’

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has accused Western countries of plotting to “cause drought” in Iran by using high tech equipment to drain the clouds of raindrops. Moments after the Iranian president made the startling claim at the inauguration of a dam in a central province, it started to rain. –more–

Inconvenient Truth

The inconvenient truth is that they’re wrong . . .
New Coalition targets for tackling climate change promise only a succession of own goals, says Andrew Turnbull.
“We need an approach to the science that welcomes challenge from diverse points of view rather than seeking to suppress them, and which recognises the uncertainties that remain in distinguishing the relative contributions of man and nature.” –more–

Joanna Lumley’s Garden

Q Would you describe yourself as a gardener?

No. That would be vain. But I do see myself as a person who loves gardening.

Q When did you start gardening?

I didn’t get a garden until I was 40 and married Stephen [Barlow, an opera conductor], and we bought a house in Lambeth, south London. Up until then I’d lived in a flat with only access to a communal garden. So a garden was something to be devoutly longed for. –more–

Senior Moment

A little silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says,
“Please come over here and help me.
I have a killer jigsaw puzzle,
and I can’t figure out how to get started.”

Her neighbor asks,
“What is it supposed to be when it’s finished?”

The little silver haired lady says,
“According to the picture on the box, it’s a rooster.”

Her neighbor decides to go over and help with the puzzle.

She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,

“First of all, no matter what we do, we’re not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.”

He takes her hand and says,
“Secondly, I want you to relax.
Let’s have a nice cup of tea, and then,”
he says with a deep sigh …..
…….

“Let’s put all the Corn Flakes back in the box.”

Miscellaneous Comments re: Unemployment

«In case you have not figured it out, if you are not rich or poor there are no politicians on your side. What is left of the middle class exists only to supply funds to pay off the friends of the politicians. What we need is a second party; all we have now is one party that has one half called Republican that has the job of not caring about the people, and a half called Democrat that has the job of pretending to care. The truth is that all they both care about is staying in office and enriching their friends, who seem to be beloved by both sides.»

«Yes, I was one of those people who, just months before being able to leave and collect a monthly pension, was let go. After a little over a year, I had the opportunity go back, but this time, only as a temp contract worker. I’m in an industry that has seen many, many good paying, engineering jobs moved to India and China.»

«IT jobs go to India, Manufacturing goes to China and we work in Wal-mart. Exchange high paying jobs with low paying ones. You would at least think the government would care about the tax loss.»

«It was really nice when there was a middle class.»

al-Qaeda needs donations . . .

Cocaine smuggled in bags of rice.

Daily Telegraph
Every business needs cash flow, and Islamic terror is no exception. Across the world, al-Qaeda is turning to drug smuggling and sharply stepping up kidnapping and extortion to plug the gap in its finances caused by a fierce international crackdown on its original sources of cash. The trend raises the prospect of new floods of illegal drugs entering the West, and a sharply increased risk to Western tourists and businesspeople as they travel outside Europe.-more-

Why is there no looting in Japan?

Um, if you have to ask why there isn’t any looting going on in Japan then you need to find another line of work with this idiotic reporting. There is no looting or shootings in Japan because it is a civil society and there is one element that doesn’t exist in this society in comparison to the United States….the parasitic moocher class. Compare the photos of what’s happening there to what happened in the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans and you’ll notice that people in Japan are not sitting on their rear ends looking for a hand out. They are working to restore their society and if there’s one thing I know for certain since I’ve worked with a lot of Japanese over the years, they will never look to anyone for $2,500 dollar ATM cards so they can go purchase liquor, jewelry and sit in strip clubs. Katrina was a small storm compared to what just happened in Japan. However, Japan will be back up and running long before New Orleans rebounds and it’s been almost 6 years since the hurricane hit. flirishpm -more-

SALT LAKE CITY — A state lawmaker’s bid to make it legal to shoot and kill feral animals has Utah feral cats “worried’ and “scared” — at least on Twitter. “Snowball,” who describes itself as a Utah feral cat concerned about HB210, began posting messages on Twitter on Wednesday in response to a bill sponsored by Rep. Curt Oda, R-Clearfield. “I’m worried about the feral community,” Snowball wrote in one post. “Killing of feral cats will break up families. Isn’t Utah about family?”  more
